Murrays Beach, Booderee National Park

Murrays Beach is one of the most famous local beaches that is well known for its clean white sand and amazing snorkelling. I've gone there a few times to paint as it is conveniently close to home and only a short but pretty walk from the car park. I do avoid it during school holidays though as it gets quite popular with tourists and I like to have a bit of space.

A sketchbook featuring a painting of a rainy beach scene held up in front of the real scene.
A painting of a rainy day at Murrays Beach. You can see the splashes of raindrops on the painting.

I've painted at Murrays on a couple of rainy days now. I don't mind it when it is grey and sprinkling with rain as the beach is empty and the soft light makes seems to make the water glow..

An umbrella is hanging from a tree above a beach towel laid out on a rainy beach. There is a sketchbook and paints on the towel.
My set up during a rainy paint session.

Another rainy day, but you can see how the water is glowing.

A sunny and bright paint session. The water here is amazing.

Now that I have a baby I cannot go painting in the rain as it isn't safe for her. I can only go on nice calm days (and I need to carry a million snacks and toys to try and keep her distracted long enough to finish the painting).
